Jackie Giorgio has been practicing law for almost twenty five years and currently focuses her practice on real estate transactions. Jackie represents both buyers and sellers in this process. Buying or selling a home can be a complicated matter. Jackie helps resolve any obstacles to closing, such as certificate of occupancy issues, title objections or mortgage financing problems, assuring a successful smooth transaction. Jackie prides herself on treating each client with the same level of attention and is well known for her responsiveness and client service.
Jackie also has experience representing banks, insurance companies and other institutions in all aspects of bankruptcy proceedings and out of court workouts. She has extensive experience in defending bankruptcy related litigation including preferences and fraudulent conveyance actions. Jackie has also been involved in many out of court workouts for her lending clients including negotiating and documenting loan modifications and forbearance agreements in an effort to avoid the necessity of bankruptcy filings to maximize recovery.
Jackie received her law degree with honors from St. John's School of Law where she was an associate editor of the St. John's Law Review and a St. Thomas More Scholar. Prior to attending law school, Jackie received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting with honors from the business school at the State University of New York at Albany where she was an active member of the business fraternity Delta Sigma Pi.
Jackie is one on the founding members of the Board of Directors of With Arms Wide Open Corp., a support group for active and retired NYPD members of service with children with Special Needs.
Jackie lives in Massapequa, New York with her husband and three children where she is involved in many community service activities.
